September 2018 Spending and Saving

Another month has come and gone, and another month has gone where I reached my savings goal! Not without some slip-ups though. I could have done much better if I had chosen cheaper glasses, but I didn't want to. I value nice frames, especially since they're something I'll wear daily for a long time.

Let's check out the numbers shall we...

September 2018 Ending Funds
Checking: $200.00 [-]
Savings: $4,915.34 [+996.65]
Emergency Fund: $5,815.78 [+408.29]
Cash: $475.86  [-40]
Gift Cards: $1,003.87 [+200]
401(K): $1,028.78 [+183.13]

I am up overall! My regular savings and emergency fund are look really good right now, but they're not going to stay that way. I finally got my new student loan payment schedule and it was quite eye-opening. I do have a minimum payment over $0 now, but I'm going to be paying much more than required because I've accumulated $3,000 in interest already! That is unacceptable! I need to get this thing paid off! So curbing my spending is going to be even more important this month while I prepare for that first payment. I'll also likely need to put off starting my Roth IRA.
